About the Artist

I’m an artist from the Isle of Man, born and raised here, and I’ve spent my entire life surrounded by creativity, craftsmanship and the freedom to do things my own way.

I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember. I’ve always been a perfectionist, with a deep appreciation for detail, craftsmanship and getting things right. My working life began as a painter and decorator and later as a signwriter—trades that taught me patience, precision and the importance of a steady hand. Those skills have stayed with me and continue to influence the way I approach my art today.

But there has always been another side to me: the rebellious side.

I’ve been a biker all my life, and motorcycles have been a huge part of who I am. From the age of 18, I began building and customising bikes, eventually specialising in Harley-Davidsons when I was able to pursue that passion more seriously. I even ran my own custom bike business here on the Isle of Man.

For me, it was never simply a business or a hobby. It was a way of life.

The freedom, individuality and attitude of the custom-bike world became deeply ingrained in me. I loved taking something mechanical and turning it into something personal—something with character, soul and its own identity. Looking back, I can see how much that experience has influenced the artist I have become.

Years of working as a painter and decorator eventually took a toll on my health, and I’m no longer able to work in the trade as I once did. That chapter of my working life has come to an end, but my need to create never has.

Today, I work from home as a professional artist, putting all of those years of experience, craftsmanship and obsession with detail into my artwork.

My art is another way of expressing the things that have always been part of me—the Isle of Man, motorcycles, individuality, craftsmanship and a little bit of rebellion.

I may have changed direction in life, but I haven’t changed who I am.

I’m still creating. I’m still chasing perfection. And I’m still doing things my own way.

Recognition

I'm proud to have collectors of my original artworks and Limited Edition Prints across the United Kingdom, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Australia, and the United States of America.

In 2023, I was contacted by Leif Neilsen, curator of the European Art Museum in Copenhagen, Denmark, who enquired whether one of my paintings could be exhibited as a permanent piece in their collection. That painting — Ravens Cliff, Douglas Head, an acrylic on canvas — is now on permanent display at the European Art Museum for all visitors to enjoy.
